Do you think you save more time parking near the entrance of the store.  Maybe, at first.  But consider this:  If you park close to the doors, you will have to drive across pedestrian crossing lanes.  You can’t run over them, so you will have to wait.  Plus, you will have to wait for other cars waiting for parking spaces and you must wait for other cars backing out of their parking spaces. You find an empty parking space quicker, you won’t have to worry about someone dinging your car, and you won’t have to deal with all the other traffic and pedestrians closer to the store.  Plus, If you are the same person that complains you don’t have time to exercise, park in the back and walk to the store.  It is so much less stressful.

Do your well meaning friends forward emails to you?  And do you, in good faith, believe all those emails must be true?  Recently, I started investigating these startling claims, to see if they might be bogus.  Go to www.hoax-slayer.com and type in keywords into their search engine.  The last email that was forwarded to me stated that Bill Gates & Microsoft would send me a check for $245.00 to every person I would forward the email to.  Sorry to tell you guys, the check is not in the mail.  This is the 3rd bogus letter I’ve received in less than 2 months.  Do your friends a favor, before forwarding  emails, check the questionable ones out and if you do find one to be a hoax, the person who sent you one know.  Maybe, this will reduce the number of emails we receive.

 TECH TIPS

 

· With most domains, you can skip the www.  Just type the domain in the address bar, for example:  tipstomakelifeeasier.com.  It won’t save any time, but it will save 4 keystrokes, including the dot.

· Keyboard shortcut:  Shift + Del will delete an item, allowing it to bypass the recycle bin.

MP3s are  for more than just  listening to music.  Have you heard of podcasts?  There are topics in all categories.  Being the self-improvement nerd that I am, I tend to gravitate toward educational podcasts or auio books.  If you don’t have iTunes installed on your computer, go to this link:

Now that you have the iTunes software installed, click on the iTunes Store on the left side of the computer screen.  At the iTunes Store, click on podcasts. On the left side of the screen you will see a list of categories.  On the right side, there is a list of the top podcasts.

The lists are endless.

If you are looking for bible teaching , go to www.oneplace.com.

Last week, when I was looking for new podcasts, I came across oneminutehowto.com.  It is great.  All kind of people give instructions on anything from boiling a perfect egg to creating your own podcast.  I really would like to recommend it to you.

Listening to voicemail instructions could be using up valuable days, weeks, or even months of your life.  How many minutes a day to you get instructed on how to leave a voice message?  There is a way to bypass the usual “leave your message after the tone”.  I thought you might be as glad as I was to learn of this information.

Most voice-mail systems, the corporate ones, will let you skip the prompt by pressing pound (#), one (1), or star key (*).  You may have to experiment to know which one works on a given person’s voice-mail system. For people you call a lot, just record it in a note in your address book next to their phone number.

For cell phones, the major carriers are as follows:

Sprint                     press 1

Cingular/AT&T   press 7

Verizon                  press *

This will get  you to the point where you can leave your message, before you forget it.  I tried it with my cell phone and it works!

 

HOUSEHOLD CHORES

 

Have you ever had a stubborn stain that wouldn’t come up?  I had put a foam-like mat underneath a rug, which somehow melted to my ceramic tile floor.  I spent a lot of time scrubbing it before I was told about Goo Gone Extreme.  I used it and I am so amazed, I have to share it with you.  I couldn’t say how much time it saved me and how much more time it will save in the future.
